The Right Way

Drug and alcohol abuse is a serious problem in many parts of eastern Europe, including Rivne, Ukraine, where the Luke Society has partnered with The Right Way ministry since 2007.

The Right Way reaches out to individuals suffering from addictions. The ministry extends a hand of encouragement to those shunned by society at the Marty Doot Christian Rehabilitation Center.

Rev. Vitaly Korsunsky serves as the director of the ministry. He led the ministry with Dr. Oleg Kolbach, until Klobach’s sudden death in 2023.

Joined by a small staff of counselors, Korsunsky helps recovering addicts steer back on the right path by building plans to help them recover and rebuild their lives. More importantly, they minister to clients to help them come into a better relationship with Jesus Christ.

The war in the country has made the need for services like these even more important. With the Spirit’s help, The Right Way hopes to guide patients on a path that walks instep with the Lord, both during rehabilitation and long after.

About the ministry:

Name: The Right Way

Location: Rivne, Ukraine

Director: Rev. Vitaly Korsunsky

Partnership: 2007-present

Staff: 16

PMT: Judy Doot; Dr. Rick and Ellen Hamilton; Cal and Marcy Tameling.

Our mission:

“Our mission is to provide all necessary and possible help for addicted people, and to give them the possibility to stop using alcohol, drugs and gambling. Our main goal is to teach a person to live comfortably every day without chemicals, and try as much as possible to bring the patients closer to Jesus Christ — filling their lives with spiritual things instead of alcohol and drugs.”

Why I love being a director:

“I love to be useful and practically effective for addicted patients and their relatives, creating conditions for their treatment and rehabilitation. Also, experiencing the greatest joy from our service if a patient not only stops using, but also accepts the Lord Jesus into their heart and life.”
