Far from the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, Dr. Silvia Martinez has her boots on the ground to assist the poor and needy of Los Angeles, Dominican Republic. 

Sociedad Lucas – The Christian Center for Integrated Health, founded in 1992, provides affordable dental and medical care to the needy in Los Angeles and surrounding villages.

Martinez uses a ministry plan that serves patients in her hospital, but also others in more remote areas in the Dominican Republic through health brigades, nutrition and community development projects such as water purification systems.

Besides reaching out to the medical and health education needs, Martinez uses her skills to minister to the spiritual well-being of her patients.

Dr. Silvia Martinez has been a faithful, long-term servant to the city of Los Angeles, Dominican Republic. She values her role within the Luke Society which began in 1991. Her ministry brings the Gospel not only to those seeking restorative health in the clinical setting, but also to natives in more remote areas of the region. She is deeply committed to her ministry and values the honor of being a part of the Luke Society family.
