Dr. Brent Van Andel became the fourth executive director of the Luke Society in August 2021. Van Andel is a native of New Mexico where he served as a family practice physician from 2004-21. He obtained his medical degree from the University of New Mexico. Previously, Brent and his wife, Cindy, served on Partnership Ministry Teams in both Yucuiba, Bolivia and N'Dali, Benin. As executive director, Brent provides general oversight and visionary direction to all areas of the Luke Society. In his free time he enjoys running, hiking, skiing and reading.

CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

Nathan Stob came to the Luke Society in September 2015 and serves as the Chief Administrative Officer. Prior to coming to the Luke Society, Nathan served in roles as both a teacher and director of a nonprofit mentoring organization. Some of his responsibilities at the Luke Society include communicating with Partnership Ministry Teams and international ministry directors, and general administrative oversight of the building operations. Nathan and his wife, Tessa, live in Sioux Falls, S.D., and they are parents to Julia and triplets Isaiah, Abby and Emily.

Dan Breen joined the Luke Society as Communications Director in January 2015. Dan’s background is in journalism where he spent nine years as a reporter for a regional newspaper. His duties at the Luke Society include outward communications such as producing the Luke Society News magazine and managing the Luke Society’s website and social media presence. He also oversees the production of photos, videos, advertisements and other written communications. Dan and his wife, Kristin, live in Sioux Falls, S.D., with their three children, Faith, Abigail and Isaac.

Dr. Troy Tompkins became the Luke Society’s Chief Medical Officer in September 2025. Prior to joining, he spent most of his career in family medicine in Arizona. Troy also has experience in international missions, having spent five years in Ghana establishing a clinic and working in community health initiatives. Troy and his wife, Jammie, have five children and three grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys running, hiking and rooting on the University of Arizona Wildcats.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/PRAYER COORD.

Kasondra Kiel joined the Luke Society as Administrative Assistant in Prayer Coordinator September 2022. Her role at the Luke Society includes secretarial tasks and financial recording. She also helps to coordinate volunteers for mailings. Kasondra works with ministry directors to organize prayer ministry, including work with the Global Allies in Prayer. Kasondra and her husband, Jeff, live in Larchwood, Iowa, and are the parents to Huntley, Brynlee and Jetzen.

BUSINESS MANAGER

Danny Fergen came aboard the Luke Society as Business Manager in July 2025. His previous professional experiences have included serving as a worship coordinator and on the technical side of worship design and production. He has overseen missions teams to Honduras and Zambia. His roles in the Luke Society include business and financial record keeping. Danny is currently the mayor of Lennox, S.D., where he lives with his wife, Kansas and their 10 children.
