Philippines ministry models core themes

“Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them.” ― Matthew 9:35-36
QUEZON, PHILIPPINES―A recent visit to the Luke Society ministry on the island of Palawan in the Philippines reminded me of the compassion of Jesus described in Matthew 9, part of which is the Luke Society’s theme verse. Jesus saw people in need of healing, hope and truth. Ministry directors Dr. Susie and her husband Rev. Ben Cayaon, along with their team, continue that same mission in the towns and villages around Quezon.
Through their ministry, Christ’s love is being shared through healing, teaching and preaching. We invite you to join us in prayer for this important work.
Healing: Susie serves at the Luke Society medical clinic, caring for about 15 patients each day. Through medical care, compassion is shown, relationships are built and opportunities are created to share the hope of the Gospel.
Teaching: On the clinic campus is the Luke Society Kiddie Center, which provides faith-based preschool education. This helps shape young lives academically and spiritually while providing many evangelistic opportunities.
Preaching: The ministry planted the Lighthouse Baptist Church, where God’s Word is proclaimed and believers are discipled. The ministry also has a small radio studio on the clinic grounds where it has the capabilities of sharing Biblical encouragement, the Gospel message and practical health information.
May we remember that God works through faithful servants and the prayers of His people. Please pray for Ben, Susie, their team and the people of Quezon. May God be glorified as the Good News of Jesus continues to be shared through healing, teaching and preaching.
