Vehicle needs in Tchaourou, Benin

“Jesus is in the boat-and it will never ever capsize.”

This is how Luke Society director, Dr. Bernard Sogbo in Tchaourou, Benin, ends many of his emails in his correspondence to us. This is the message of good news he shares as he travels from village to village in the areas surrounding his community. His desire is for people to know Jesus ― the light of the world and the hope for the nations.

Bido-Lafia, Warakobi, Seneingabou, and Danwirou are just a few names of the villages he has visited in the last month. He regularly sends us WhatsApp messages documenting his evangelism campaigns in which he boldly proclaims the Truth.

Many times during these visits he encounters people paralyzed by fear and trapped in the power of darkness. Many of them have never even heard of Jesus. Bernard wants these individuals to know that Jesus is stronger than their fear and greater than this darkness.

Since the Luke Society began partnering with him in 2022, he has used taxis and motorbikes to visit these communities. He is in need of a vehicle to help him reach these places more efficiently and effectively.

Dr. Bernard also runs a busy medical center, which offers inpatient, outpatient and obstetric services, along with a lab and ultrasound. He is the only physician working at the ministry and spends long hours at or near the clinic. That often does not allow him the time to travel the hour it takes to get to his home and family. A new vehicle will also enable him spend more time with his wife and four young children.

Our goal is to raise $30,000 to help Bernard with the purchase of a vehicle. Thank you for partnering with us in such important work. Your support will help people know that when they invite Jesus into their boat, he will never leave or forsake them.

If you feel the Lord calling you to support this cause, you can make a cash or check donation through the mail or follow this link for a credit card donation for the Tchaourou, Benin, vehicle project.
